New game caused freezes even when not playing, possible GPU issue?

My system has been stable and perfect for months. No unusual issues at all. I run a few different games and browse the internet without issue. Recently, I installed a new game, Vermintide.

Game worked fine for a week. Then, my system hung. Nothing a restart shouldn't fix - except it did not. After this hang, despite not changing any parameters, I cannot run the game for more than about 50 seconds before my system hangs again.

Additionally, watching youtube videos fairly reliably causes hangs, esp. on full screen, within 30m to an hour.

I originally fixed this by updating a video driver (not much of an update) - everything was fine for two days. Then, the game caused another hang and my entire system started hanging when running this game or viewing videos.

Leaving my computer running with Firefox opened but nothing much active, I woke up to the computer frozen after about 2 hours of idle time.

This is mysterious. I ran some other graphic intensive game just to test it out and it seems fine. Despite initially fixing the problem (or 'fixing' it), this game seems to set my computer to be unstable. While I'm willing to give up playing one specific game (not really), not being able to watch videos or potentially having some other unstable thing cause my computer to freeze is unacceptable.

Any ideas?

Tried updating to Win10 for the fun of it. Start Menu button doesn't work and it acts 'weirdly'.

But any video causes me to lock up almost instantly. I have since reverted back, but at this point, I have no idea what to do. Considering re-installing the whole OS and hoping for the best. Any ideas?

The step to upgrade to Windows 10 wasn't exactly a smart step, because the problems in the previous Windows version will be carried over to Windows 10 and most likely new problems will come while upgrading.
If you have reverted back using the method Microsoft offers, in my experience it'll only bring extra problems with it.

Please re-run the tool and upload the zip file, my guess is that the information from the current uploaded zip file isn't 100% accurate anymore.

Alright. Reuploading right now.

I since went back and reinstalled Windows 7. Here's the new information and an update:

After reinstalling, I haven't done all the updates (30,000 plus. Ahh!) but I seemed to run things fine for about 8 hours. Games and videos ran fine.

Then, I got a lockup.

I restarted and the lock caused me to have to restart a few times AND I got a blue screen! 0x124. Faulty hardware that weirdly fails only after so long and then continually fails? It's not reasonable.

I have to run out for a bit, so I'll see if it runs in the background just fine. It was powering down and that was causing trouble. Changed that right away. Also, just downloaded the traditional Windows update suite of thousands and thousands of files.

Later, I'll try to crash this thing.

At one point, videos (Youtube, even the Colbert show!) were causing lockups within minutes of opening, sometimes within seconds. Anything with video, from browsers to VLC.

This initially caused me to suspect my graphics card, so I disabled the GPU drivers and went two days without any problem, but I just got a BSOD (which is nice, because lockups don't do anything helpful) and 0x101 (0x19, 0x0, 0xFFFFF880009EB180, 0x1) errors. Here's the attachment .zip.

Please check Windows Updates for updates, install every update available, it may take a couple of times to get them all.

Alright.

Had about 3 more locks in the last hour just by having videos open.

Got one 'important' update and six 'optional' ones. Last updated at noon on Oct 30th. I'll grab these now.

All updated, but with drivers back on, I still lock up within 3m of starting the game. Watching videos didn't drop me, but that can be random, too.

No BSODs, just quiet mysterious hangs. So... what's the best place to go from here?

Ran fine since last message except when I tried to run this specific game. Hung up but gave no useful information.

Since then, just been watching some YouTube videos and doing internetty stuff, running nothing intensive at all.

Just now, I opened up Skype and it immediately locked up, buuuuut it gave me a BSOD. Here's the information.

Yeah, exactly what my 'system specs' say. I just used their utility to update me. It's not too major, but... maybe it'll fix it all!

Gotcha.

It's not really a 'performance' issue ("Computer runs too slow!" or "video not pretty enough") so much as a... broken issue. I'll throw a post over there, see if anybody has any ideas.
