new graphics card...help!

My friend wants to buy a new XFX 5770 1gb graphics card for his rig as his current 98001gb GT gave in yesterday...he has an intel core i7 960 @2.93ghz, an asus p6TD deluxe motherboard, 6gb kingston ddr3 2000mhz RAM and a 730W raidmax rx730SS PSU
my question is, will this graphics card run new games on high resolutions with AA turned on smoothly?

It'll run alright with a couple hiccups. Don't expect to play a game full tilt with that card... it is a budget card and not a performance card.
