Solved New Hard Drive Installed Trying To Install Win 7

I Bought A New Hard Drive Tried To Install Windows 7 But When I Try It Says I Need The Drivers I Don't Know Why I Installed A New Hard Drive On Another Laptop And It Never Asked Me For The Drivers When I Started To Install Windows 7 I Am Stumped Please Help

What are you using to install windows ? A retail dvd ? Did you make the disc yourself ?

I Am Actually Using A Burnt Cd That Has All Versions Installed On It And It's Asking Me A Required CD/DVD Drive Device Driver Is Missing And It's Asking Me Right After I Hit Install Now

The problem is almost always a bad installer.

Where did you get the ISO and how is it burned to DVD? How is it being activated?

Are you using the Producct Key on a laptop's COA sticker to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7? If so follow the steps from the top to get a perfect reinstall.

Follow the steps in the tutorial to get a perfect reinstall.

Download the latest official ISO for your licensed version and burn to DVD using the tool given. The installer you have is bad and should not be used.

Read the Special Notes to HP Owners at end to understand your options for the HP Recovery and Tools Partitions. I would delete them all during install.

Sounds like you've still got a bad installer. Did you boot into installer DVD or flash stick burned or written using tool and latest ISO for your licensed OS version here? Do that now and report back responses to our help steps so we know you are following them and not just flailing about.

Unplug all other HD's and peripherals,

Boot into BIOS setup, reset to defaults, save changes. Next if an EFI BIOS, enable Legacy BIOS, set DVD drive first to boot, HD second. Then set SATA controller to AHCI. Save changes and Exit.http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164

Boot installer, at first installer screen Press Shift + F10 to open a Command Box, type:

DISKPART
LIST DISK
SELECT DISK 0 (after confirming Windows 7 target HD #)
CLEAN
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY SIZE=102400 (for 100gb partition, adjust as desired)
FORMAT FS=NTFS LABEL="WINDOWS 7"
ACTIVE
EXIT
EXIT

Next click Install Now, then Custom install to Clean Install Windows 7 to the partition you created. If it fails then report back at which step and the verbatim error message.

In addition read over these steps to understand the tools and methods which work best to get and maintain a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. The steps are the same for retail.

After install you can adjust partition size or Create new partitions for data, etc. in Disk Mgmt. We are creating the partition here to mark it Active which overcomes certain install failures.

If you're getting Bootmgr is missing then the HD is attempting to boot, not the DVD drive or Flash stick.

Ok Thank You So Much It Worked I Installed It Uppdated Everythinng But Now I Have Aanother Problem Once I Updated And Everything I Shut it Down Last Night And Unplugged It But Now In The Morning When I Tried to Tirn It On It Won't Even Turn On At All the Light Next To The Ower On The Laptop Turns On But The Laptop Won't Even Power Up

Are you getting anything on the screen at all?

Look at the LED activity lights for CPU and HD. Anything at all?

Nope Nothing Turns On Besides The Littl Light When You Plug In The Power Adapter To The Computer That's It

Unplug the power adapter, remove the battery, press the Power button and hold it down for about 10 seconds, then plug back in the power adapter to see if it will start. If not plug back in the battery.
