[SOLVED] New HD Shares Require Password But Not Existing Ones?
I already have a successful network setup between two Windows 7 PCs. I can access folders and share files between three different drives/partitions. I have just purchased a new HDD, created three new partitions, set the sharing settings identical to the already existing successful shares, but when I attempt to access them from the PC that does not contain the new drive, I am greeted with a Username/Password prompt.
I have never experienced this before and since the shares are setup the same way and have identical permissions, I am unsure why this is happening. Here are the facts;
1. Wired Connection
2. Linksys WRT54G
3. No Anti-Virus or Firewall
4. No HomeGroup setup
5. Advanced Sharing Setting Configuration
- Turn on network discovery
- Turn on file and printer sharing
- Turn on sharing so anyone... Public folders
- Media streaming is on
- Use 128-bit encryption to help protect...
- Turn off password protected sharing
- Allow Windows to manage homegroup connections
6. Images Of Shares
What I See = PC Without New HD
What She Sees = PC With New HD
Drive E - What I See (share properties of working share)
