I just finished installing W7, I did a new install and I must say this OS is impressive to say the least. My computer is faster than it has ever been, no driver issues so far. I will install my audio programs tomorrow, Cubase, Vegas Pro 8 video, a bunch of samplers, notation and music applications, so I will let you know how that goes.

Congratulations to Windows on a great program. Now to my laptop!!!

It is a good OS, that's for sure. Good luck. :)

If you're a guitarist at all and use powertab, through trial and error I discovered even that is possible to install. All you have to do is copy the powertab font from an existing XP or Vista install (from Windows\fonts) to the Win7 fonts directory (Windows\fonts.)

Or I could send you the font if you need.

Then copy the program directory from XP or Vista (X:\Program Files\PT Software) to Win7's Program Files folder.

The installer will fail because it tries to overwrite system .dlls and 7 will not let that happen. So what I described above gets it working without the installer or altering any existing files.

Cubase 3 runs perfectly well under 7. So does Guitar Rig, Sound Forge, Guitar Pro, Cakwalk Sonar, Cool Edit Pro off the top of my head. Good luck!

We have the same processor...cool. :D

Thanks, but I don't use powertab.

Vegas Pro 8, Soundforge 9, Sibelius 5, DVD & CD Architect all seem to be working fine for now.

Thanks again!
