New Install of Win 7 errors?!

I just installed win7 64 on a laptop with new hard-drive. Upon restarting or after I shut down periodically when I start the system back up I get a Windows Error recovery message saying run windows repair/Start windows normally or Windows Boot Manager error?! Ran the repair and it said windows could not repair this computer? Also ran a test on the drive with WD Diagnostic tool and no problems were found? This is driving me crazy!!

Any help would be appreciated!

Set bios to defaults, disable UEFI if it has it, only use Legacy boot.

Re install windows.

Ok its a HP Compaq Presario f700.
I'm in the BIOS and I don't see if its UEFI & how do I set Legacy boot?

If you don`t see any UEFI options in the bios, then it doesn`t have it.

Its a Brand New WD HD. I ran a test on it with WD tools and no errors were found.

Also I wiped the drive earlier and reinstalled win 7 and had the same error messages popping up?
And it's not everytime I start up.

Are you following the steps in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7, particularly how drivers are best handled in Win7? This can make the difference.

Which drivers are missing after all Windows Updates are done? Enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3) to Check for Updates now, install all Important and Optional with requested reboots until there are no more offered.

If you've varied much from the steps in tutorial then I'd do it over. Win7 is not installed like XP.

I'll try that Tutorial, I've never had this problem before installing Win 7 on desktops or laptops until now that's why its driving me crazy!

It's a HP Compaq Presario F700 that I'm having this problem with. I added a New HD & 2 gigs of PC2 5300 G SKILL ram. Could the ram be the culprit? It originally had samsung ram in it.

We need the specs as shown in the above post.. What were the specs on the original ram and what are the specs on the new ram. What does the manualsay about how much ram it can take and what ram is recommended, Frequency, timings and voltage? It is also, not advisable to mix ram.

Even though I ran a WD test on the HD I think it might be bad?!

Also when I try to go to windows recovery options somehow it's showing the operating system on drive E not C?!

When you got the laptop, did it have Vista pre-installed? What type of Windows 7 are you trying to install.....OEM or Retail?

Please boot into the system (if you can) and run the following:

1. Download and save this tool to your desktop:

2. Run the tool, and then click Copy - ignore any errors if they appear

3. Use CTRL+V to paste the unedited results of the tool here in your next reply

OK. Im not suprised you are having trouble....that Windows 7 installation is a well known Lenova counterfeit. I recommend purchasing and installing a genuine Windows 7 or Windows 8.
