New install updates Issue [Moved]

Hello, I'm new to this forum but it looks extremely helpful. I just bought an older refurbed workstation with windows 7 professional 64bit newly installed. I'm sure it needs a ton of updates but when I run the update it just sits there searching for updates and nothing else. No errors, nothing. I actually let it run over 24 hours and nothing changed. Oddly there are a few updates, but they only appeared after I updated the browser so I could actually see websites. Anyway I will include a screenshot of them just in case it is useful. I also tried the troubleshoot fix problems with windows update and it just searched for updates the same way. I then tried downloading the "convenience pack" from microsoft's website which then proceeded to install the standalone installer that searched for updates the exact same way as the other two, with no results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

These "fixes" all seem to do the same thing that fails every time. I download a file that then proceeds to install the update standalone installer that just hangs. The update troubleshoot did the same thing. But I just tried what you suggested anyway and it is hung at step one. The download installed the standalone installer and just hangs there "searching for updates on this computer." I let it run for 3 days last time with no change.
