Solved New install WIN7 error IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

Aloha,
I'm trying to make a new install of WIN7 on a new Corsair SSD.
My prior OS on this machine was WINXP PRO. The Maxtor 80GB HDD that XP was loaded on died.
I used the opportunity to upgrade memory from 4GB to 8GB of Samsung DDR2 800Mhz. on my existing mobo Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H, v1, upgrade the video card to Radeon HD 6750, and replaced the HDD that WINXP_PRO was loaded on with the SSD above. The CPU is AMD Phenom QuadCore 2.3GHz
On another machine I downloaded the WIN7 BIOS drivers from Gigabyte to a flash drive and performed a BIOS update per the GB user manual. The BIOS is v.f2 dtd 01/01/09
At this point the video card has been pulled and the BIOS changed to onboard video. All other peripherals and cables have been disconnected except the HDMI cable to the monitor.
The error msg also says "...Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software mfg.for any WINDOWS updates you might need..."
The only new hardware plugged in is the SSD currently operating as IDE not SATA. There was no installation information for it. Prior to buying, I asked GB tech support if the mobo would support it
The only new software are the GB driver updates for the BIOS.
Does anyone have any recommendations to fix this?

What driver updates ? Did you need them ?

Have you tried running with just 4 Gigs ?

Does the installer work 100% ? Have is it been tested ? Try installing in SATA mode.

You don't say at what point this error occurs. During install?

It's most often a memory error, so I would pull the new RAM stick to see if it resolves.

Reset the BIOS to defaults, set SATA controller to AHCI, almost all SATA drivers are in the Win7 installer.

Win7 is the first driver-complete OS with most drivers in the installer or quickly updated via optional Windows Updates when you enable Automatically get recommended drivers and updates for your hardware . Put your wireless/ethernet driver in your backup so you can install it to get online quickly if it doesn't load during install, then do updates and don't import any drivers until all updates are done.

If OS will install with native stick of RAM, then try installing the new one and if it errors again re-spec the RAM to get it correct. You can also test your RAM - Test with Memtest86+ for 5-6 passes or overnight.

Report back results including any verbatim errors and when they occur in Clean Install Windows 7 .

Many thx to you also for your reply. I'll try to respond to your comments;
Q)You don't say at what point this error occurs. During install? A) Yes, immediately after the Windows setup files have been loaded. The screen changes to "Starting Windows", then the screen changes to the BSOD.
Q)It's most often a memory error, so I would pull the new RAM stick to see if it resolves. A) I have 4 sticks @ 2gb/stk. I'll have to attempt boot with 2 then change 1 and try again, etc. That'll take some time...more than I have left tonight.

A) The BIOS has been reset to "Load Fail-Safe Defaults" I have not tried the change only the "OnChip SATA Type".that will have to be a boot trial by itself before the memory stk check, again, more time than I have tonight.

The blue links are tutorials showing how the steps are done.

The most obvious thing to try first is removing the new RAM you added as it may be mis-spec'd. Then test all of the RAM for errors as shown in the tutorial provided.

Where did you get Win7? Did you burn the DVD Yourself? Try another using ImgBurn at 4x speed.

I'll let you catch up with the steps but there are more if these don't help.

Your suggestions regarding testing each RAM stik was the key to resolution.
My 1st stik and boot didn't get the anticipated single chirp from the mobo spkr indicating successful boot. Thought the mobo would not boot with just a single stik but tried the 2nd stik anyway. Didn't get a sucessful boot but, got some mobo chirps even if they were error chirps. I then knew that the mobo would boot with a single stik so proceeded to check stiks 3 & 4. They were both good and had successful boots into the BIOS. Then loaded both stiks, entered the BIOS menu and changed the SATA controller from IDE to AHCI and booted successfully into WIN7.
Many mahalos-n-alohas for such good and clear guidance, also many mahalos for the tutorials which proved very helpful and educational.

Problem sticks may not be spec'd da kine, but worth also stress testing 5-6 passes with RAM - Test with Memtest86+ to be sure condition.
