Thanks for reply GregRocker

Mean't to have clean new install?, old HDD ended up (500gb) as external as he could not get my machine to accept it as second drive
I also had him fit a Radeon HD 4350 graphic card I thought I had damaged the old Geforce 8600 when loading Umbunto from a CD and my display altered shifting the display to the right and the monitor alighnment could not be altered I used a TV monitor that could auto align

He then tried three times to clean boot due to numerous crashes also he could only load clean copy as x64bit if only one 1gb ram and then insert after loaded the other 1gb ram

If we had it running and trying to load new programmes eg Bullguard anti virus if I tried to do first scan it would do 2% the shut down an reboot same with trying to load real copy of MS Office 2007

The Windows 7 was/is a genuine MS Home Premium

First remove that AV and install MSE to use only with the Win7 Firewall: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

Now try installing Office again.

if it fails, try checking the logs to google or report back repeat errors, and other troubleshooting steps given here: http://www.sevenforums.com/general-...-lags-every-couple-seconds-2.html#post1131640

Is the OS installed on a brand new HD? Please post back a screenshot of your full Disk mgmt drive map and listings, using Snipping Tool in Start menu.

Did the tech wiped your old HD before trying install? If GRUB bootloader was installed with Ubuntu it can corrupt Win7 until it is wiped with zeroes.
