CenturyLink upped my bill from $36 for 12Mbps to $58 (tax included). So, I bailed and went to CableOne, which offers 50 Mbps for $50 (tax not included). Now, I have over 4x the speed but everything is so slooooow. I keep checking speedtest.net and it always show 50 +/- Mbps down. Virtually, every web site I visit does NOT pop up instantly but has long pauses ("waiting").
In fact, I downloaded World of Tanks. It cycled the speed from 12 Mbps to 12 Kbps. The 5 GB download took over 2 hours. Is it possible that CableOne is throttling me?
Never had this problem with my "slow" 12Mbps connection.
I'm hoping some of you chime in and tell me the entire internet is slow.
