Hello guys, I bought a new laptop a few days back, but the internet has not been working as it should on it.

I can barely connect to the internet, and the signal is really weird. If I sit in my couch with my laptop the internet is barely working, though if I move about 10inches it will start to disconnect, reconnect, acting up, or not even work at all. Even if I move even further away I can still see my internet coming up on the list over available internetconnections.

I'm using an Atheros AR5B97 Wireless Network Adapter, and whenever I try to troubleshoot my internetconnection a message saying "Problem with wireless adapter or access point - Fixed"

After running a troubleshoot and getting this message the internet will reconnect and work properly as it should be for 10-20 seconds, before returning to act up.

I have tried to reinstall the driver (latest version, atleast windows says so, but couldn't find any newer version online so I guess I'll have to trust windows on this one (?)). Also been trying diff. settings on powersaving, etc, but with no results yet.

I've had several computers, much older ones, all able to connect to my internet with no problems at all, no matter where in the house I would be.

Help. :-(

Whats the make and model of laptop? With this information we can try and find the correct drivers for you. It's all ways best to get the latest drivers from the actual vendors and not through MS updates.

Also, there could be some sort of interference from other appliances and electrical wiring.

What type of router are you using? Have you tried changing the channel on the router?

Not sure what routerit is, but I find it weird that everything (10+ devices, PCs, Macs, Ps3s, etc) have worked with no problems at all when connecting to the internet.Should it not be a software issue or a win7 issue? If I start trying to configure my router then it will surely make a hell for all the other computers in my house, etc.
Sigh, windows is never easy. :-(
