My husband recently brought home a new Acer Aspire 1810TZ laptop from China. The laptop did not have a power cord for the US, so I ordered one. When the cord came and the laptop booted, the startup questions were in Mandarin. After failing to get support from Acer I sent it to work with my husband to have a Mandarin speaking person do the startup. This was done and the language set to English.
60% of the text is still in Mandarin. I attempted to go to the control panel, languages, and set the items there to English but all my choices are in Mandarin. I googled a chinese converter and tried to interpret that w/o much sucess. I looked at my desktop computer, located the English setting in the language list, choose the same Mandarin location, and rebooted with no change.
My questions are:
Is the Windows 7 that is installed a Mandarin version? Can the Windows 7 text be converted to English or do I need to reinstall an English Windows 7 version. Do I have to buy one is someone, Windows or Acer, responsible for helping?
Any Ideas?
Thanks
