new member, scary problem!?!

i was messing around with the permissions and sharing properties of an external hard drive last night. not sure what i did but i can not play video files from that hard drive anymore.

i get this error message in vlc media player

what did i do

You could try doing a System Restore to before you made these changes. That will restore the registry and should fix the problem.

Did you check the log file for details as the message says?

It might be something simple like needing to take ownership of the folder/file.
