Have also programmed the 1401 and actually also the 7040 series, 7070 and 7090 series. Although I guess it's time to stop reminiscing and get back to the real fun which is learning and trying to help others.

Z11, I've read about that machine. Quite ahead of it's time.

The Computer History Museum in Mountain View has TWO operational 1401's. One is a German machine complete with 50Hz power and the other from Connecticut.

Maybe we need an old timers forum. The kids would have no clue what we're talking about.

I did not know that there was that museum in Mountain View. Must be of a newer date. In the early 70's I lived in San Jose.
I don't know about the oldtimers getting together. We have to look ahead. Mixing with the kids is good.

The CHM is a great place. They moved the collection from Moffat Field about 6 years ago I think.
