Really confusing thing just happened...
I connected my new Saumsung Syncmaster B2230 21.5" monitor to my PC.
Everything was working fine, with a max resolution of 1920x1080. Then I unplugged the VGA cable at the back, to plug in my Xbox 360 VGA cable into it. That worked fine, as it should.(I needed to change its resolution to 1920x1080 also).
The problem came when I unpluged that, and plugged my PC VGA cable back in. All I got was a blank screen. I restarted my PC, it displayed everything after that, but now the max resolution I can get is 1600x1200, which leaves my display looking all stretched.
I think the aspect ratio of my monitor was changed..? How do I fix this? :(

OS: Windows 7 32bit
Gfx card: Nvidea GEForce 7300 GT (latest drivers)

Try plugging Xbox 360 again and turn the resolution down from it like 720p and than again plug in ur PC VGA and see if it change anything. I assume you might have already checked the resolutions from the NVidia Control Panel and Screen Resolution from the desktop.

I tried that, unfortunately it did not work.
However, I seemed to have solved the problem by using the DVI cable instead of the VGA cable for my PC connection. Back to a nice 1920x1080 res :D

"Hot Plugging" monitors, ( removing and inserting interface plugs while the system is running), can seriously damage your hardware.

Shut down and switch off all systems before removing or inserting plugs.

Different systems send different information to the monitor in regard to screen resolution etc. Unless the systems are configured to send identical signals, then you have to reconfigure the settings if you change to another system.

Regards....Mike Connor
