New motherboard still doesn't post to the monitor?

Recently I got a new monitor for my motherboard (Asus M5A78L-M) due to the old one dying, the reason was that there was no posting to t he screen. It was an OEM, Pegasus motherboard that usually dies out sometime anyway, so replacing it was probably sitll a good idea.
After replacing it, putting in all the cables and things of that matter, it still won't post. I've tried switching the RAM into different slots, but still nothing will show up on the screen.
Everything else works fine, the fans work and the lights are lid up where they should be. THe DVD-Drive does open, but closes a couple of seconds afterwards. Also, other things like a mouse and keyboard light up for a second when it turns on.

I really need to diagnose the problem before I spend more money on this stuff.

I would start by checking the monitor and the cable. Switch both out with known working monitor/cable to see if you get a response.

For clarification, did you only switch out the motherboard or did you buy a monitor as well? We need to know exactly what you're trying to do to provide the best answer. I think you're saying you replaced the mother board and nothing is showing up on the monitor, correct?

Oh yes I have done trying the VGA cable with the monitor with my laptop. It's actually a TV with a VGA port, as well as HDMI. I even tried the HDMI port on the PC to the TV monitor which still has no response.

I ordered a new monitor but it hasn't arrived yet.
But yeah, I replaced my monitor because it wasn't posting to the screen and it was dead, I asked around and they also said it was just a dead motherboard.

No beeps. Just normal kinda "whirring" noise that means it's starting up like good computers do.

-HP Pavillion P6310y
-6gb RAM DDR3
-AMD Anthlon II X4 630 CPU
-Windows 7 (i'll probably have to reinstalll this with the new Mobo)

On most all TV/Monitors when you flip them over you'll notice a toggle switch like on your PSU as well as a on/off button. Common mistake to miss the toggle.

MY TV has no such toggle switch, it's just an input on the TV. I also tried it on an actual computer monitor and still, no posting occured.

No, the video card is integrated (or whatever it's called) in the mobo it'self, for both the old and new mobos.

Oh, yeah the CPU had some pins bent which didn't connect into the socket all the way. I was unsure since it was my first time replacing a CPU. I bought a new one, and it's fine now. Now I know how it's supposed to lock in the socket.
