Hey pep was wondering if anyone can help me out, Ive been trying for 3 days now to install a clean os on a raid 0 setup. I can get the array setup in the bios np, but when it comes time to actually install the os i can't. Reason being i cannot for the life of me find a raid driver that is signed by windows>< The south chip is sb700.

Hi

Welcome to Seven Forums :)
Read quiet a few reviews indicating poor performance for the sb700.

AMD has also fixed an issue with the SB700 southbridge caused by a malfunction of the internal clock generator. Although motherboard makers will need to add an external one to solve the problem for now, AMD has notified its partners that the issue will be fixed in an updated SB710 chipset, added the sources.

More here

Have you considered adding a RAID-controller if you have spare PCI-slots available?

Regards

There is no reported performance improvement on RAID0 with Win7 but a lot of install problems reported.

Have you considered un-RAIDing to clean install Win7 to one HD in AHCI mode, then after install plug in the other HD to use for backups, or even place your User folders there?

This way your stored image of OS/Programs drive is leaner so that when reimaged your files are current and waiting in their own separate drive: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/18629-user-folders-change-default-location.html

My limited personal experience with motherboard RAID suggests that it isn't worth the trouble.

Win7 seems to be a lot better than Vista in terms of having drivers out-of-the-box, but not every chipset is covered.

Maybe these will help:

ATI Radeon

I don't have an AMD system to try them on, but I presume that they're signed.
