HI,I am not sure where this discussion should go but lets start here.
I still have not resolved the internet connection problems my PC so i think if i can afford another PC i will go that route now,but my question today is if i get a newer PC with a WIN7 OS already installed can i take the one out of the other PC install it in the newer PC and not bring a malware or virus problem with it and destroy newer PC.
I am not sure if you can do that but would like to know before i get into something i can not fix easily, thank you

This is not a good idea. You will run into all kinds of problems - malware being the least concern. Drivers and activation will be your main problems. I assume your current OS is an OEM system.

A fresh system is always the way to go. And don't be afraid of Windows 8.1. It is a nice system. With a couple of days of training you will love it - fast, reliable and lots of nice features.

What are you looking for - laptop or desktop.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
I would personally follow up on your other thread to GregRocker,
http://www.sevenforums.com/installation-setup/363099-win-7-install-problems.html#post3016295

I would also add more information about what is on the machine as in which Security suite you use and what scanners have you used to clean the machine,
I don't know why you would want to transfer anything but personal files from the old machine and a new one the os is not genuine which could explain your internet connection issues I'm not sure I have not been down that road before,

Also state where exactly you bought your copy of windows/ how much was it..
There's allot of ways to clean a pc of malware or viruses but it's important to follow up on existing questions,
If you need more or better details to accomplish tasks please follow up on those issue to perform the tasks asked of you :)
Cheers.

A quick answer is no you can't. Your existing PC, is according to your system specs, a Dell & it probably came loaded with an OEM Win 7, so that will be tied to the motherboard & you new PC may have the same type of Win 7 loaded as well. OEM stands for Original Equipment Maker. The problem you would have is that you cannot get it activated & registered with MS. This type of OS is supplied my Microsoft at a reduced price & the computer maker carries any problems the user might have with the operating system & not MS.
If you were to just change over the hard drive from your existing computer to the new one you would have the same problem & of course you would still have any viruses etc. on it.

HI,Well lets start with OS which is loaded on a SEAGATE 1TB HDD,the OS was thru WALMART i paid $107.00 for it and the main reason to buy it thru WALMART was to get what i believe would be a legitimate copy and i am going to using this at home so it will be a desktop.
This DELL E521 did not come loaded with WIN7 it came with WINXP,i installed a SEAGATE 1TB HDD plus the XP which i unplugged before installing the WIN7 OS and the WIN7 OS has been running with no problems for about 1yr both PC'S are hard wired with cat5 cables thru a COMCAST router and i unplugged my sons PC and hooked mine up to his cat5 cable to check cables and my PC acted the same still no internet connection.
Now when it comes to cleaning a PC of malware and virus's are there some that are better then others as i have malware bytes and Hitman pro,AVAST on my desktop and if i understand SAFEMODE that if i use it should be SAFE MODE with networking unless you have a better way of doing, also a 8GB usb to download programs to,to try and clean up PC,

The above is the same as my PC except i have a 500 PSU.
I do not know if it makes any difference but about the time i started having these problems we had a power outage blinked the power off and on 3 times so fast it did not trip surge protector.
