Can't make my mind up

I'm due an upgrade on my mobile. At present I have a Lumia 520, this was the very first entry level Lumia and I've had it nearly 2 years.

Whichever phone I go with will be a bit more expensive than I pay now. Anyway I've picked a couple that I like but don't know which to actually go with, the HTC ONE M8, this is nearly new, or the Nokia Lumia 830.

I really like my Lumia and was thinking of going with another but the 830 is the only one they show that I can upgrade too. My network is Vodafone, I've always gone with Vodafone as they work where I live, I did try Orange at one time but their coverage is not that good here.

Has anyone got any experience of any of these phones good or bad. I did at one time have an HTC Wildfire S but it drove me mad always telling me it had run out of Internal memory even though I didn't have that much on it, hopefully they've overcome that problem with their newer phones.

The wildfire S is a cheapo android phone. If you are going to go android, especially prepaid you want to spend more then $100.

Otherwise they are junk. It all depends on what you do with your smartphone.

I know the Wildfire S was a cheap one, it was a nice phone though apart from the internal memory problem. My post did say I'm on contract and due an upgrade so will not be getting a prepaid or buying one.

I always used to have prepaid Android phones but after being offered a free Nokia Lumia 520 on contract at not much more than I'd been paying I went with it. I really like the Windows phone, OK it's not got as many apps as Android but that's alright with me it has what I want.

I mainly use the phone for email, photo's, the Lumia takes great photo's, picture messaging, the occasional visit to Facebook, reading books on the Kindle app.

It's all on your choice. If you want customization and compatibility,go for the HTC. Otherwise,choose the Lumia.

I had an Android phone earlier,now I have an iPhone 4S. I can tell that for photos,Lumia is good. Android is famous and very customizable,because it is open-source. Windows Phone is not used by many people and compatibility with the latest applications is limited. When smartphones were not in stores,I used to have a Nokia cell phone. It was good for its time.

I can't understand the on-contract prices that you have,because here we don't have such prices for the latest phones. For example,when HTC One M8 was released,it cost 700 euros ($700 almost). The telecommunication companies make some offers (they sell the latest phones for $200 less,for instance) sometimes and you must pay more for the 4G network.

Can't get 4G where I live. Even 2 and 3G are patchy. I'm on Vodafone and my signal isn't brilliant. Indoors I've usually got maybe 2 bars showing, on the odd occasion I'll get 3 but more often it's between 1 and 2.

Now I can get a full signal if I go 5 miles down the road, but that's no good to me. Vodafone is really the only network I can have here. The coverage of other networks here are either very weak or none existing.

Thanks I probably will as I like them and can keep in sync with my Notebook.

I'll mark this as Solved as nobody has really given me their experience with either model phone and even though there have been lots of views the response has been very poor and that's not going to alter now.

I've had a Lumia930 for a few months now, it looks nice but as I'm yet to make or recieve a call on it that's about as much as I can say

I get a few calls on mine but I've usually missed them or they're the wrong number.

Got my new phone today, the Lumia 830, so far I love it seems to have a lot more features and a better camera, which will be fantastic. My 520 took great photos but this one has a much better version.

I'm happy so far.

I would look into Blu products they have very nice phones for cheap

I wasn't looking to buy one Tommy as I'm on contract and was getting an upgrade so going with what they offered.

Got the Lumia 830 now and I love it.
