Please please don't give me financial advice. I've used the system i currently own (see specs) for a long time and it can still run modern games quite well, and like I said I can upgrade as I go along.Read my previous message.
You will be chained to one PC for 4 years? I'd reconsider buying it at all. If you do heavy encoding work you can have someone build a PC for 500 pounds which will more than suffice for that and won't need to be upgraded. But 4 years? Even the 980X will be outdated by then.
