New SSD Drive

Hi all just purchased a new SSD Drive and need to clone copy my win seven installation over to it, what's the best way to go about it anyone done it?, don't really want to reinstall, my currant installation will fit on SSD, my current win 7 installation is on a raid configuration if that matters.

Cloning is one way to do it but if you have an external drive you could use it is preferable to image your current OS drive, storing the image file on your external, and then restoring the image to your new drive. There are several free imaging programs you could use for this, including Aomei Backupper, or the one usually favoured here, Macrium Reflect. I advise this because for ppl not familiar with cloning it is not uncommon for them to get it wrong and wipe their OS drive. That cannot happen with imaging.

I've used Clonezilla on Linux systems and agree with folks that say that it is very hard to figure out how to use it -- and any mistakes could wipe out your current installation. Instead, I heartily recommend the Image/Restore path using Macrium Reflect. I've done that several times "migrating" installations from HDDs to SSDs and never yet run into any problems.
