new ssd will not boot

I got my new ssd from samsung...samsung 840 124gb...I did the migration to the new ssd and that worked fine...it said now go ahead and install...i did...it will not boot the message that came up was windows failed to start a recent hardward change might be the cause (no kidding) put the system disk and hit repair....I did that and it would not boot...I put a and other boot disk and got the same message..it will not boot no matter what I do, I even went into bios and checked the start up system


on the screen it says
file: \boot\bcd
status: 0xc000000f
info: an error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data

samsung is close til monday

ps while the ssd was conected to my pc I was able to read it and the data looked good. if that is any help...it was connected by a connector that was provided by samung with a usb connector

How did you do this migration?? Was it with a Samsung provided program - which seems to be not working. You would not be the first case of failure.

I used the software that came with the unit. and it seem to work ok...on the box it said it was "activated" what does that mean

Apparently it did not work OK. Activated could refer to activation with the product key or to the active partition. No idea what they refer to.

Have a look at my tutorial;. If you want to go the easy way, get the Paragon Migration Tool. It's linked in the tutorial. That does the job with 3 clicks and is 100% reliable. I have used it many times.

System setup is where the date and time are stored and where startup preferences like NumLock or Passwords are defined. In addition, many hardware settings are defined in System Setup.

In particular, Solid State drives are often controlled here. At the simplest level, SSDs are numbered in Setup as Drive 0, Drive 1, etc or sometimes as Primary Master, Primary Slave. Whichever way these are named, they have a basic ON / OFF setting (sometimes AUTOMATIC or something similar).

If your drive is not detected it may be because it is turned OFF in System Setup.

In most cases, the boot drive is Drive 0 or Primary Master. When you add a second drive to the system, it may be need to be enabled by turning it ON in System Setup.

For the SSD to be detected in a new installation, the drivers for the add-in SATA controller/motherboard must be loaded at the beginning of installation.

The drivers for the controller/motherboard can probably be found either on the CD that came with it or on the manufacturer's website.
