New thought about my PSU & BSOD !

Your help and input needed!

I've been having trouble with the BSOD on start up. About 60-80 percent of the time on boot I get the Blue Screen, but with a restart one to worse case 6-7 times later system will boot normally. I've checked RAM, GPU, temps and the like. I even have AMD and MSI willing to check out my CPU and Mobo for issues. Before I do this I've been using this forum and trying everything first because in my gut I don't think it is the mobo or cpu. I hit apon another thought and that was with my 600watt power supply (Ultra X3-600wt)
I have alot of things drawing power and using a PS calculator (eXtreme Power Supply Calculator) it showed a suggested min. power of 583 and a recommended power of 626watts. My system of course blue screens but has also started shutting down and rebooting. What do you all think about the PSU being taxed right to the limit or close and causing the BSOD on boot issue and the shut downs?
I could bore you all with everything I've done to look into this if needed and a list of all my components is in my profile.

One word - Yes

It is very likely that the underpowered PSU you are running is causing you trouble.

I would recommend replacing it with something like this - Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply

However - from the pics it seems you take pride in your rig, and if you want less "PSU cable spaghettiness" cluttering things up you may want to go for the Modular PSU option - Newegg.com - CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-850HX 850W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

I run a 750W PSU that is the model below that last link - and it is brilliant.

Another good brand - Newegg.com - Thermaltake Black Widow W0319RU 850W ATX 12V v2.3, EPS 12V v2.91 CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Given that the power calculator had you close to 700W (770W by the time you add in a 10% safety margin) I would personally go for a minimum of 800W.

reventon, I'm in total agreement. I think with all the widgets I've got running in my new full tower case I could go with the non modular and save some money as I'm using almost every output on my current unit with some multipliers on the ends of some power cables. I'm going to order a 850-1000 watt today.

Thanks for the confirmation. I've ordered a 1050watt silver and it should more than do the job, even when I upgrade to SLI GPU's and other future mod's. I used to say that the case was one of the key items to purchase as it under pins the whole rig, but I will now add that the PSU is huge as well. You start out with just a few items then add and add and overclock and add, then suddenly BSOD, reboots. I'll inform and update later how this changes things ! Cheers to all.

Just an update. Placed a new Ultra X4 1050 watt 80% silver in the system. My system hasn't re-booted as of yet that's the good news but the BSOD on boot is still the same. I will watch my system closely over the next week and then choose a direction to go from here. Can someone send me the memtest version I will want to run to test the memory? Going to the site I'm overwhelmed with choices.
