This morning as I was getting ready to end my session, I got a pop up saying updates were available - all 46 of them!! It showed I hadn't had any updates since July. WHY did they wait until now and unload 46 suggested and another 5 optional? It took 3 hours!!!!!!!!! I'm none too thrilled at the performance afterwards either.

I can't tell you why it took so long before you got a notice about Windows 7 Updates.

I also don't know why it took sense July to wonder why you were not getting Windows 7 Updates.

I would suggest no matter how you select to get Windows Updates always check at least once a day manually.

I totally agree (although once every day or two should be enough). Since the notification icon likes to play hide and seek with me, I put a shortcut on my Quick Launch menu and click on it every once in a while. Making the short cut is easy; just go to the Control Panel, right click on Windows Update, and click on Create Shortcut.

I get notified when updates are available. They aren't exactly flying off the walls as 7 is now considered an older operating system.
I have no idea what the updates were as most said they were security and malicious software removal related.

I got another group of updates today. They were smaller file sizes and only 11.
BTW, I have to do a search to find this thread. I don't know where it put it. I clicked the button to start a new thread, but it obviously did something else. What did I do wrong?
