Recently got a new computer, fantastic machine with windows 7. It had no wireless so i purchased an EDIMAX EW-7711UAn adapter. It seems to work fine sometimes for an hour or a day and then windows says it detects a problem and it seems to mess my whole computer up making it unable to shut down. I have looked at power saving options, drivers, the works and it states that the adapter supports windows 7. I am out of ideas and tearing my hair out. Any help would be much appreciated!

Welcome!

I can think of two possibilities.

1) You have corrupted drivers. Please uninstall your current ones and reboot, letting Windows install drivers automatically.

2) The device itself is actually faulty. If playing with drivers doesn't work, you may consider sending the adapter back to the store and get a new one.
