new vegas ram

So is it lagging or something? If not i wouldn't complain that it doesn't need more ram.

Old game engine, x86 2GB max usage limit.

In fact, the vast majority of games will never utilize more than 2GB because of this.

Why this MOD itself doesn't work - you're better of reading the comments from others.

the game doesnt lag as such, i do get an annoying stutter when it loads a new grid and the textures etc, i think that is more related to the hdd though, not that i have a slow one i have a samsung spinpoint f3. think the only way to get rid of that is have an ssd

The stuttering is due to the engine design with regards to rendering distant distances in the open areas. I'm not sure there's anything that can be done about it other than getting a super duper uber system that can run Crysis at 300 FPS on super uber high at 1900 x 1200 res

Sarcasm aside, the game is borked

As I said before, the stuttering issue is a game engine issue. Bethesda needs to fix it.

Good luck.

I don't think they can considering there's been 3 patches released already.

Also the fact the stutter issue was in FO3 and Oblivion as well.
Its just the engine, as thats the 1 thing they all have in common.

There was a FOSE script extender for FO3 and Oblivion that helped alot, called stutter remover. But I don't think theres one for NV yet.

AS far as the the little lag spikes on occasion when a new cell loads etc, a SSD will help in that dept.
But bear in mind, the stutter from the engine itself will still be there.

Although the SSD will help a bit with FO, it will not be a huge improvement, as most of the issues are the engine itself.

At least, not enough of a improvement to justify the the cost of a SSD just for the game.

One other thing you can do to help in that department though is make sure your HD is defragmented, and that should help out a bit as well.

Even people with SSD drives are complaining about stuttering, so unless you were already planning on getting an SSD drive, getting one strictly for this game issue is pointless.

NO, I'm not saying SSD drives don't improve performance, I'm saying even those with SSD drives STILL have the stuttering issue with the game.

Point being an SSD drive is going to remove this issue.

Don't believe me? See Wishmaster's post.... and system specs ;)

i also get a weird stutter issue in black ops, not microstutter but the same sort of load issue, ie once the info is loaded into ram ie ive been to a part in the map for the first i get a mini stutter, but once loaded i dont get it, just worried i have a hardware issue? the only thing it can be is my mobo, or it could be nothing at all, ie its just both games are still bugged.

Like others said, it's the shitty Gamebryo engine they're using for their last three games that cause this stupid stutter.

yeah im sure your right, the thing that made me think it could be something hardware/driver related was that i also get some stutters in black ops and it seems to be a loading type thing there as well, ie it starts off quite stuttery but as the multi map progresses and ive been round it more it becomes less, but i know that game has been plagued with bugs as well, im sure if it was a mobo issue, id be getting hard lock ups, bsod, crash to desktops etc which i never ever get
