New Win 7 USB problem

I did one of the recommended security upgrades last night before I left the office. This morning, none of my USB devices works and I get the "USB Device Not Recognized" error about every 5 seconds, even though I have NO USB devices plugged in. I've tried a system restore to about 3 days ago, and nothing seems to help. I'm running a virus scan right now, just in case. Anyone else seen this kind of problem?
