New Win7 64 PC crashes with Google Earth

Hey all!

I just purchased a new Acer Ax1301:
Newegg.com - Acer Aspire AX1301-U1302 Athlon II X2 215(2.7GHz) 4GB DDR2 750GB NVIDIA GeForce 9200 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

And Samsung monitor :
Newegg.com - SAMSUNG B2430H Glossy Black 24" 5ms Full HD 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 70000:1(1000:1)

I have updated everything and downloaded the latest driver from nvidia.

I have the latest version of Google Earth and when I run it the screen randomly goes black and the HDMI signal sign produced by the monitor appears in the upper left corner and then the monitor comes back.

I am using a new HDMI cable to connect PC to monitor.

I searched the forums and tried other fixes people here suggested but none work.

I have a WEI score of 4.3, which is the lowest for Windows Aero performance...gaming graphics experience is a 5.3 I think.

Is this an issue with Earth, or Win 7 64 bit?

I am loving this new PC and monitor and Win 7 save for this issue!!

Your computer probably crated a DMP file which we need. use these to find and upload them to us

Thanks Ken, I will try and find the dmp file and post here. I am not sure if this can actually be considered a crash ( and I hope I posted this in the right forum ) it just shuts the monitor off for about 2 seconds and then back on...seems to happen randomly, work ok for a few minutes then happen a number of times then ok for a few minutes.

I did try turning off atmosphere, switching between open gl and directx with safe mode enabled and nothing seems to make a difference.

I did update to latest directx/drivers etc etc.

Should I try and standard cable as opposed to the HDMI one?

Shame as I really like Google Earth!!

In case if you can't find the minidump file in c:/window/minidump, here is the instruction for how to enable computer to collect minidump file

Windows 7:
Go to Start and type in "sysdm.cpl" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Click on the Advanced tab
Click on the Startup and Recovery Settings button
Ensure that "Automatically restart" is unchecked
Under the Write Debugging Information header select "Small memory dump (64 kB)" in the dropdown box
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as "%systemroot%\Minidump" (without the quotes)
Click OK twice to exit the dialogs, then reboot for the changes to take effect.

Thanks for the help Tuan and Ken!

I noticed when I tried to play video in WMP I was getting the same issue. I changed the settings on my nVidia control panel to manually adjust settings and not allow the program that was running do it and that has seemed to solve my problems!!!

Now if I could just get my desktop picture to change every 10 mins like I selected!!
