Hi everyone

I’ve come across a strange problem that I’ve never encountered before, i have a Dell Latitude E6420 ], which I solely use for diagnostics on my car and do an error, i had to reinstall windows, now, once it’s installed, bot the LAN & wireless card fare missing and not available, both worked ok on previous installation and both work fine if I install win 10 pro, so I know they both work etc. I’ve tried everything i can think off and several “fixes’ from Google don’t work either, i can’t install certain drivers from the Dell site using the laptops tag number, i bet a kernal32 error message. Any ideas please?

After a clean install of Windows 7 SP1, you normally need to manually install the drivers for a computer's primary devices (chipset, graphics, audio, ethernet, wireless, etc.).

During and after a clean install of Windows 10, the drivers for a computer's primary devices may be automatically provided without any intervention from its user.

That's why you saw the ethernet and wireless drivers installed in Windows 10, but not in Windows 7 SP1.

What's the exact 7-character "service tag" number on your Dell Latitude E6420 laptop?

Thanks for your advice guys, I managed to sort it out in the end, I had to install a couple of KB updates for the 2 adaptors to be recognised, but now I can’t update tge .net framework above 4.0, all the s attempted installs fail to complete.
