New Window

I have tried to solve this issue from other sources such as googling and the IE 8 forum with no luck.

When I go to Page --> New Window



When New Window is clicked it opens the same website I am on.

Under tab browsing settings I have set it to open "Your first home page":



This has NOT corrected the issue. Is there another way to make this setting and have it work. It is a pain especially when it opens a page such as this site where I am logged in.

You are telling it you want to play with your currently opened PAGE in a new window. Try opening a new tab first and then open that blank PAGE in a new window.

I guess I assumed that New Tab and New Window were the same thing; bad assumption.

I also kept looking for a New Tab icon on the Menus. It does not show but I did find it under the File Menu and it does exactly what I want.

You can create a new tab by clicking to the right of the last tab opened.
