New Windows 7 Installation - How to get Updates faster than one by one

Hello folks!

Would appreciate your help.

Intalled Windows 7 on an older PC, and have a multitude of updates to download/install. I remember vaguely that there was a faster way of doing this with patches, or something like them.

Can you lead me with some guidance??

Yes, it's from Chinese firm! When you run it, click on Updates, then Scan, Choose the updates you wish to install, and then click Install updates.

Had problems with both approaches.

This computer is an old EEEBox PC:

It came with W7HomePrem and 2GB of memory. It will not accept another 2GB, even though it has a memory slot empty.

I am using ReadyBoost to improve its performance, and have been able to install updates the slow way. Planning to give it away to a senior citizen who is home bound.

The specs say it can support 8gb ddr3 ram. Presumably that means 2x4gb sticks. Maybe there are variants of it.

Thanks for your reply.

I am aware of the information you provided, but unfortunately, every attemt to install any more DDR3 at 1333MHz memory failed. The extra memory was not recognized, only 2GB were.

For what the person who is getting the machine does, the memory it currently has wil have to do.

DISM++ just froze.

Guess it did not work well with the lack of memory on the EEEBox.

Your specs don't help when you tell us of problems
Automated tool to post your specs
System Info - See Your System Specs - Windows 7 Help Forums
How much RAM do you have?
DISM++ and Windows Update, use RAM to store updates before installation.
You can try installing only a few at a time.

Thanks for the info.

That is what I did, a few at a time.

Also using ReadyBoost to compensate for the PCs 2.0GB of memory.
