My Windows 7 64-bit machine randomly gives a BSOD and then reboots itself; sometimes the reboot hangs up, and sometimes it goes all the way through without a problem.

I am attaching the most recent dmp file; is there any value in sending more than one file — I have two more from yesterday.

Welcome,

I tried to work on your post, but will not be able to continue until maybe tomorrow. A cursory examination indicates that it is your antivirus that is causing the problem.Try to diable and see if the problem perisits.

Here is the drive that seems to be causing your BSOD

What is the avgmfx64.sys file?

If the problem persists, your additional dumps would be helpful.

Richard is correct. The cause is probably AVG. Please uninstall it, and then run this removal tool: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/avg_arv_sup_____.dir/avgremoverx64.exe

Then download and install MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

Thanks for the quick responses

I have dumped AVG and installed the Microsoft program. I'll monitor it and see if the problem has disappeared, and will get back to y'all if it shows up again.

Same problem again after removing AVG

When the computer tries to reboot, it hangs up at the boot screen that shows SPU Clock, Disk Drives, etc. If I power down completely and hit F2, F8, And F12 (which one is correct for Windows 7 ?) it will go to a screen asking if I want to start Windows normally.

The latest dump file is attached.

I would run system file check to see if everything is ok
To do that, go to start-->type cmd in search box--> run cmd as administrator, in cmd window, type in sfc /scannow (space between sfc and /)
Beside that, the bugcheck show memory_corruption, I would download third party called memtest86, burn it to cd and let it run for at least 5 passes
Bugcheck

Ok, I ran the memtest, got a boatload of errors, and will replace the memory tomorrow; hopefully that will do it.

Thanks again for the help.
