Are you sure each stick works in each memory slot on the mobo? It's possible your bad RAM could just have been an indication of a lower-level problem. Hence why I asked.

Well, ill try each ram stick in each slot and run memtest to see what happens.

EDIT: Anything else I should try? I wont be able to try til later.

That's unfortunately necessary at this point, if you're still getting errors like this without the removed RAM sticks. Good luck, let us know how it goes.

What brand & model are your memory sticks?

You probably already know this:

GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket AM3 - GA-880GM-D2H (rev. 1.x)

I don't see AMD Phenom II X4 B50 listed on cpu support list

GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Socket AM3 - AMD 880G - GA-880GM-D2H (rev. 1.x)

Here are two cpu's that are on the list with better performance.
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition for $199
or
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition for for $158
