Solved Newly built pc fails to turn on!

Hi,
I have just built two new pc's one works one other doesn't.

The one that doesn't power on it has no life at all apart from when I loosen the connection the cpu fan moves for a second and stops.

Maybe try the power supply from the PC that works on the PC that doesn't work? See if that makes a difference.

Hi. I just had this same problem in my rig build. Try pulling the CMOS battery from your mobo and putting it back in in 10 minutes. Silly reminder, but make sure you stay grounded.

check the pins settings for HDD, Reset, Power LED + - etc.

Hi i just recently about 3 4 days ago built my gaming pc (need to update the specs on here)
i had the exact same problem during my stage.
what type of ram have you got in there ? If there is any ?
What power supply ?
i would try a different power supply definatley a more top of the range type
if that dont work same with the ram systems dont boot up if theres a problem with the ram or PSU.
I wouldnt think it has any problem to do with the motherboard all motherboards these days are becoming quite efficient, also check the Power leads witch attatch to the mainboard

Well, am not gonna list the parts but there are bits (like my motherboard) from my pc extracted to make another computer. The motherboard worked well for 2 years. I put it on a new pc and nothing but when play with the mb power cable it turns on for 1 second then off. I have a cheap psu that is 500w which is more than capable.

Double-check to make sure the MB standoffs are in the right place.

Also, make sure the CPU Fan header on the MB has a fan plugged into it.

Great advice by those two. You most likely have a connection problem.

Thanks everyone it was 2 things, the psu (which works on a second pc) and the case its self the power switch is broken. I had wired it up correctly and now works from using a second cases power switch

am glad its not the mb I cannot replace it lol. Also the case switch is broke. The wires heatsink tubing has come off along with its solder I can replace that. Thank you all for the help.

I would still say its the powersupply a cheap power supply is never reliable my opinion get another power supply and try it seems like there is power going into the mainboard but not enough power from the power supply to power it up again same thing happened to me had just a glimpse of power changed my power supply n voila ! It worked !
