Hi, I've read quite a few threads on this issue and tried just about every response I've seen so far and yet nothing is fixing this issue. I was able to find out that the device is: Q963/Q965 HECI Controller driver using the unknown drivers program from majorgeeks, however I can't seem to find the drivers for it.

my system:
Intel P4 540 Socket 775 LGA 3.2 GHZ
Mainboard HP Model OA54h
Bios version: 786E1 v01.10
PCIE Graphic Interface
4G Ram DDR2
AMD Radeon HD 6670

Info from Unknown Devices:
* Windows Description - PCI Simple Communications Controller
* Hardware ID - VEN_8086&DEV_2994&SUBSYS_2801103C&REV_02
* Device Category (Class) - Other devices
* Enumerator - PCI

* Detected Chip Vender - Intel Corporation
* Detected Chip Device - Q963/Q965 HECI Controller
* Detected Vender - Hewlett-Packard Company
* Detected Device - <unknown, id=2801>

* Device Status Flags - Detected, Unknown, Present, Not Phantom, Category Visable

any help would be greatly appreciated. my system still thinks it's using an old CRT monitor and so is sending
analog to my new led hd monitor :confused:

the system info you posted makes no sense--I can't find any motherboard named HP OA54h--I suggest you download install and run this handy little program called CPU-Z, which will allow you to see 'exactly' whats on/in your machine (see screenshot)--get it here: (it's free)

CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

then post back with the actual mobo specs and it will be easier to locate drivers...

I would download all of the files from the HP-Compaq site. Put each of then into their own folders. Install each file one at a time and see if any solves the problem.

This should help detection further

Intel AMT HECI, v.2.1.2.1030, A00
Intel ME Interface (previously known as HECI) is the interface between the host and the Intel ME firmware.
Drivers and applications on the host that wish to interact with Intel ME through host interface would use the Intel ME Interface host windows driver.
• Intel ME Interface driver can be

Drivers for OptiPlex 745c

Yours is possibly a Intel AMT 2.0 v.Pro (ide??) driver needed
Should be in the H.P driver multi-pack they provide for that version.

hrmph well it's not really that big of a deal... would be nice to have it functioning properly but it's a 'get by' machine for the next couple of months anyways,

thanks anyways guys

**didn't see other responses before posting that... I'll try the 'newer' heci.. I've already tried all the updates like you suggested DocBrown. as in my OP I have tried A LOT before posting it on a thread :) I'll let ya know how the heci works out**

it appears you've tried everything....however...in your OP you mentioned your monitor isn't being recognized...so...did you check the AMD support site for your Graphics Card?

AMD Radeon

see the support tab--there may be a problem with the Catalyst Control Center

ALSO---I found this post from 2007

"If you go in device manager, click on the pci simple communications controller, go in property and then go in details. You will see a code like per example PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_27D8&SUBSYS...
The VEN code means vendor and the DEV code means device: in my case the vendor is 8086 and the device is 27D8.
Once you have the two codes, go to http://www.pcidatabase.com/http://www.pcidatabse.com/. Enter the two codes and you should get the name of your
hardware. From there you can search for a driver download for your hardware."

ah... well that is useful to know and appreciated. However, I ended up just taking the machine back to XP Pro. Everywhere (even HP) I looked said the PCI driver for this mainboard does exist for Win 7 :(

still having an issue with the Intel AMT but it's just a matter of it not running and since this is being used for personal use instead of a business application that's really no big deal. Everything is running great now, but then imagine that as all the drivers I need exist for this machine with XP Pro.

Really appreciate all the feedback and attempt to help. I'll remember this site when I get my new machine built and go with using Win 7 :)
