NIC specific application setting in Windows 7

Hello,

I need some help. I have a PC running Windows 7 Home Basic. The PC has a LAN interface and a WiFi interface. Both the LAN and WiFi have individual IP addresses and connects to two different routers.

What I'm trying to do is have IE10 connect only through the LAN card that connects to my computer's router. & have all other applications use the WiFi adapter to connect to the internet.

So far, I have tried to use ForceBindIP to bind the applications and use Route command to route the traffic.. but will no success.

Can someone please provide me detailed steps to go about this?

Any help you can provide will be appreciated.

I do not think this is possible to do I would think they would interfere with each other.

EDIT: The only way to do this would be to have them connecting to different networks (eg. 192.168.1.1 for wired - then 192.168.2.1 for wireless)

Well, I'm not sure how to go about doing this then... I got it to work using ForceBindIp but it is not a permanent solution.

Let's put in a scenario where in I have two routers.

1. Router 1 - Connecting to the net (internet)
2. Router 2 - Meant to connect for a company VPN.

I want to use IE10 and configure it in such a way that when I'm putting in google.com or yahoo.com it connects via Router 1 but when I put in say "http:\\10.92.1.1\login.asp it connects via Router 2.

How can I make this happen? Is there any programming or software available that I can use?

Ya they are connected to two completely different networks.

The WiFi gets its IP address automatically from the router (gateway 192.168.1.1)

The LAN has static IP like 10.92.1.6

That's what we want to avoid. Reason being, we need to concurrently use IE10 that connects to a website that my company hosts on their server and then use the WiFi to access internet and get emails on Outlook.

Unfortunately, the company gateway does not provide us with internet access so we need to use a different router to get internet.

Are there any applications / softwares available that can route my traffic through the specific NIC once I put a request through my browser?

For example, when I type Google or MSN.com it routs the traffic through the WiFi .. and when I type in 10.92.1.1 it routes it through the LAN?

EDIT: See i don't understand what your trying to do because when your going through a vpn from out of work you use your own internet

We are not using a VPN. My office is a dealership outlet for cars. We need to access the DMS (Distribution Management System) through a web browser login; e.g. http://10.92.1.1\login.asp ... Now, this connection is given to us through a CISCO router and we access this through a LAN connection on our PCs.

Main Branch > Cisco Router > LAN

Now, this connection is given to us through a CISCO router and we access this through a LAN connection on our PCs.

Oh I understand you now. I thought you were trying to access you company from at home on a vpn sorry.

Yes what your doing is hard maybe to do. Maybe there is a program. The only way I can think of is using a virtual machine such as VMplayer (Free) or VirtualBox (Free) and within the virtual machine you can use it one the internet or even the DMS

For the the virtual box you will need a Image of a operating system. If you need help post back

Do I need to load an OS in virtual box as well? That's gonna slow the PC down like crazy. It only has like 2GB RAM on it.

With 2GB of RAM. What Operating System do you have and is it 32-bit or 64-bit? If it's Windows 7 64-bit it will be to much for it. Also you do need a iso file of the Operating System.

Belongs to the company... but I'm responsible for their maintenance and configuration.

This is how the computers are configured -

ADSL Wireless Router --|
Cisco Router Router ---| ---------------- Switch ------------------ PCs (20)

No domain or company network. Just an internal network using a switch.


Both the Cisco Router and the ADSL Wireless router are connected to a switch and then the switch networks all the 20 PCs.

So basically we want to get rid of the connection between the ADSL router and the switch and route the internet directly to the PCs through WiFi and only use the Switch to connect to the PCs physically so that they can access the DMS though IE10.
