If you allow the 30 days test fase to expire, and reboot you'll be presented with a prompted with a window asking you to activate, when you press "activate later" there or "cancel". It will log you in to your account without asking for a password, in full operation mode, not reduced mode .

And if you keep your left hand fingers crossed and put your right hand on top your head jumping on one foot, Windows activates itself automatically plus installs Office 2010, makes you a pot of coffee and some pancakes. Sure does! I heard it from my mate...

No, and I agree with KEN, (and can prove it- If paid enough) go past your time to activate, login and have reduced fuctions. It is still super easy to continue with more time.
PS: All this Information is FREE and available on MS: How to section.
Ask Microsoft what to do.... information and instructions with pictures.

If he is old enough to READ how to: he can do almost anything.
You must learn to READ - Understand what you read then put it to practical use.

PS: Still evaluating Vista SP2. but prefer Windows 7 Ultimate
