Just wondering if anyone has tried the new Norton Internet Security 2010. I was thinking about using that because my Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 seems to be a memory hogger. I will be doing something (such as work in MS Publisher) and may have other programs opened with it and will get a message saying that Windows is low on memory.

Just wondering...:orb:

How much RAM do you have?

NIS2010 is very low on RAM with Windows 7 here.

If you do decide to try something else make sure to trial it first.

I tried a 90 day trial of NIS 2010 and I was pleased with it, but when starting up my Windows 7 laptop, it took it longer than usual to get to the login screen. Kaspersky doesn't seem to take as long but I find when I enter my password and click the arrow to login, I see the "Welcome" message sit there for a while before it ever gets to my desktop.

.
I've been using NIS 2010 on three computers since it was released. It has been very reliable and doesn't noticeably slowdown the computers. It installs very fast (and uninstalls very fast too in case you want to unload it before installing a service pack, etc). I highly recommend it, but try it for yourself. There's a sixty day trial here:

Norton Internet Security Download - Softpedia

(note: you want the second link, not the beta).
