Hi,
I recently bought a new laptop (ASUS UL80VT) with Windows 7 pro 64.
In order to install a CAD software (for my job), I need having access to the "COM+ applications" folder (in Components Services >> Start / exec / dcomcnfg)

When clicking on the folder, I receive a message (in french) telling that I do no have the right authorisation to get access to this folder (even if log in admin).

Would anybody could help me to open this folder ?
I already update my BIOS (according to the ASUS technical support recommandations...)
I think the problem com from Windows 7 pro 64 itself.
Many thanks.

Hi Carburateur,

Are you connected to a Domain Network?

Also, Did your version of CAD work correctly with Vista?

Steven

My computer is not connected to any network, but I installed Windows XP mode in order to install some software not compatible with Windows 7.
Yes, the software works on Vista.

A part of your log.As you can see there are many errors addressed to any Certificates keys but from my experience with analyzing log
in 95% there are false alerts, many persons which have any issues with permissions have the same alerts and almost always there are false.
Please note usually only a few percents of errors reported by this tool are true alerts.
But please pay attention for the last three things circled red line

PM inform there are any strange rubbish in folder

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Sqm\Upload

Please empty this folder for every cost, this folder should be empty.it looks like any log is creating here.Possibly you'll have some problems with removing files from this folder.
You can try to remove this file in safe mode,or use LockHunter or if really nothing help to boot any LiveCD Linux i.e Ubunt and by using it remove unwanted files.

FYI

This folder is hidden

the another

HKLM\Software\SRS Labs\APO

check permissions for this key

ADMINISTRATORS and SYSTEM accout:full control
Users:READ
Everyone:READ

If you have HKLM\Software\SRS Labs key empty I suggest completely remove it,this key comes only from any 3p application

the third

comexp.msc -this is snap which you are using now.In my opinion it is also false alert
