Solved No AHCI mode in BIOS?

My current computer is a inspiron 530s running Windows 7 (of course) and in it there isn't an option in the BIOS for AHCI mode. I have the newest version of the BIOS and was wondering if there might be something else I might could update or change to make the option available. Thank you for your time and i'm sorry if this isn't the best place to post this thread on the forum.

Welcome to SF. You will want to visit the Dell site to see if a newer bios version doesn't address this very issue. If it does then you will want to back up all data and research in the Dell manual the proper way to do a bios update as any false move can brick your rig. This isn't to say that it's not straight forward but you must adhere to the procedure.

As said before I have the newest version of the bios I just updated yesterday to see if that would fix the problem, but... it didn't

IDE it is then and don't despair even though not optimized then it's still wicked fast !

I have checked and can confirm this system BIOS doesn't ship with AHCI mode in BIOS. So if you wish to use RAID then you can select RAID in SATA mode. Otherwise you can use IDE.
