I hv been using W7 for 2yrs on my HP DV6502AU Laptop, using vista's drivers for the same, everything was fine bt few days back its sound went off with a cross mark on the sound icon.
I triesd to reinstall the drivers bt it shows "cannot find the media device for this driver".
So i formatted my laptop and installed windows 7 again to check whether it will work or not.
And the bad luck followed, now modem driver is showing the same"cannot find the modem device for this driver".
Please help me out here, without sound and net my laptop is just a piece of slab.

Welcome to Seven Forums.

Looks like you are talking about an internal modem. External modems/routers often come with their driver software. Be that as it may, you please go to Software & Driver Downloads HP Pavilion dv6502au Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English) and download your missing hardware drivers. Some discretion in choosing the drivers to be downloaded may be necessary.

You can also visit an HP Office with a blank CD and request them to burn the drivers you want. At least they do it here.

Hi askinyou, The win vista drivers will work fine , Just install them in compatibility mode and everything should work ok, if you know the manufacturer of some of the devices ,you can visit their websites and see if they have any newer drivers available .I would advise you to use the laptop manfs graphic driver though ;)
