Hello fine people of the Windows 7 forums I am in need of help. You see when repartitioning my hardrive for the windows 7 install windows xp exploded, however I was not fazed by that due the fact all my data was on a external hardrive. So instead of trying to recover windows XP I simply reformatted the entire hardrive and installed windows 7 with no problems.
However now I have problem. I have no sound. Windows 7 keeps insisting that my onboard RealTek AC97 isn't installed and no update seems to be fixing this issue. And I can't seem to install drivers, or at the very least I am doing terribly wrong because I can't even seem to find the option for such things. So my request here now is, how the blazes do I go about fixing this problem?

Do you have the drivers for win 7 or vista? If not you can get them here Realtek
It should work after you install the correct driver (32 bit or 64)
hope this helps somewhat

Yes I have tried those, specifically the R2.26 "Vista, Windows7 Driver(32/64 bits) Driver only (Executable file)" and still no luck with that.

What I do notice is that all the drivers only cover up to win2003. Is this an older card?
