Do a system restore, if possible, to the restore point prior to your use of the updating software.

^^^ what he said. that info would help alot. just because you "upgraded" doesnt mean the new one is compatible. my old sound card worked fine in windows 7 x64 until i enabled more than 4gb of ram. i went to staples and bought a cheap $20 win 7 compatible card and now problem solved. also my computer did say "no audio output device installed" just like yours. maybe yours just wont take sound from the internet. a lot of times incompatible things may still "work" but the output may not be what was expected

realtek high definition audio is not an actual sound card. it has something to do with onboard audio systems on a lot of machines. if you have changed your card to a different one, then you shouldn't be using that for your sound. you should have another device show up in the control panel. what card did you upgrade to? this will help us a lot
