so bought a brand spankin new Western digital hard drive the other day one of the caviar green's 1TB to put in my old comp currently have 3 hard drives in there 1 320 gb segate drive SATA, and 2 old IDE drives. any way the issue here is i've used my girlfriends computer to install windows on the new drive as my comp is crap and slow and hers well core i7 920 6gb ram you do the math lol, so windows installed perfectly fine go to plug the drive in the old computer of mine and it gets to the boot load screen ( i have 32bit 7 on 1 partition and 64 bit gamer edition on another partition) the drive is split into 3 partions 100gb and 2x415gb select either of the OS's and it instantly goes into the start windows normaly or auto repair, auto repair doesn't work and start windows normaly and the computer just reboots.
my comps specs are as follows
Intel E2180
Gigabye GA-EP31-DS3L
2gb ram
some generic 680W PSU
Nvidia geforce GT 220
and the above mentioned hard drive's
crap specs yeah lol ( i am upgrading soon )
any way the drives work fine when put back into the misses comp have to run the auto repair 1st once then works with out problems at all on the good comp.
cant for the life of me work out whats going on
ive tryed all 4 drives pluged in ive tryed just the 2 sata drives
ive tryed with just the new drive and the 2 ide drives and ive tryed the new drive
on its own and nothing. all 3 other drives work fine with each other.
any ideas would be much appreciated guy's thanks
and sorry if this has been covered before im just to tired to go looking at the moment
P.S the new drive was the only drive hooked up to the girl friends computer at the time so unless windows 7 installs stuff to ram or the mother board then im pretty sure its not a FAT issue or a missing boot file.
P.P.S bios recognises the new drive perfectly fine no issues at all.
