no create folder option in desktop in context menu

i run a win 7 ultimate x64................until a few days ago when i wanted to create a new folder on the desktop i used to right click........new and click on folder to create new folder..... now it seems to be not working as the folder option has vanished from the list.....and leaving me in dire state ............... ......i have checked the vistax64 forums for a similar problem and did find one..only that that the .reg i downloaded proved to be of no use!!!!!!!!!!! is there a way to bring back the folder option in the list again!!!!!!!!!! and yes i cannot create a new folder in the whole computer practically except..........when i copy a folder..paste it back and then try to rename it it works but it take a whole lot of time......and the shortcut key also doesn't work!!!!!! plsssss try to help me here..............or else i have to reinstall win 7 all over again........ and i dont even know whether it will work afterwards :-(

For a quick fix try system restore, back before the problem started. I bet that will fix it.

If it started a few days ago, go back a week.

If that wont work, open an elevated command prompt (CMD, Run as Administrator) and type, without quotes "SFC /scannow" and press enter.

That will scan your PC and make sure all the system files are in tact and not corrupt or missing, and will fix the problems if it finds any.

You might see if using the Folder download option in this tutorial can restore it for you instead of the one you used for Vista.
