but got stucked when the OS showing is not the Win 7 but the Vista. I choose the Vista and pressed next, then got a message "This version of System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of Windows I'm trying to repair..."

I checked your notebook on the HP website, and I don't see it listed in the Windows 7 supported computers list. Also, there aren't any drivers available for Windows 7 x64 for your computer. Based on that, you might have problems getting Windows 7 to work after you get it installed. I believe your problem is a complete lack of 64 bit SATA drivers for your optical drive. Get yourself a 4GB (or larger) USB flash drive and install Windows 7 from that. Follow the instructions here on how to do it:

I have successfully installed Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit on my HP which had a Vista Home Premium 32 Bit, from my 8GB USB drive as indicated above by kegobeer (Thanks!). But before I burnt a new image of the win 7 to a DVD on my MacBook Pro in order to transfer the files to the USB. I am wondering if this DVD burn was better, but then I noticed how fast was the installation from the USB was. System is running well so far. Thanks theog and kegobeer.
