I have the Montego DDL and I have downloaded and installed the drivers straight from c-media but I am still not getting any sound out of the digital/optical out. Any suggestions? I've looked into the automated driver signing issue but I dont know what exactly I'm looking for there. Any help would be great thanks!

it works not using the spdif but i can't get the spdif to work.

yea sorry I thought I had mentioned what I'm running.

I am currently running Windows 7 64bit. The standard audio out works great with the drivers from c-media. And in the sound options it lists speakers and digital output, but the digital output doesn't do anything. The red optical light doesn't even come on on the card. Maybe due to the automated/restricted driver assigning the spdif driviers aren't being used?

I'm having the exact same problem as the OP, no digital out coming from the card to my receiver (I haven't tested the analog plugs as this is a HTPC and I don't have analog cables). I upgraded from Windows XP MCE 2005 which worked perfectly with the same hardware. I've tried the Win 7 beta drivers, the vista drivers, some open source drivers, and nothing has worked. All of the drivers from the C-Media website show that Windows believes it is transmitting sound (the volume bar moves when testing) and the driver is correctly installed, but nothing actually transmits. The open source drivers did not install correctly due to Win 7 driver restrictions, so I think that is a dead end. I'm at a total loss as how to proceed any further. I don't expect Turtle Beach to actually release a x64 driver for Win 7, and since C-Media hasn't released anything since January I'm starting to think I may be in the market for a new soundcard. Can anyone help me?

I was able to get the digital out working on the Turtle Beach Montego DDL by using the open source drivers found here: cmediadrivers - Project Hosting on Google Code

Follow the instructions here on "How do I install the driver in 64 bit edition of Vista": FAQ - cmediadrivers - Frequently Asked Questions - Project Hosting on Google Code

You will have to continue running in test mode in order for Windows not to disable the drivers. Not the best solution, but it works. Hopefully CMedia will release a working driver in the not too distant future.

So I'm not sure if the drivers straight from c-media are open source or not, but they are the ones I am using. I am still in test mode, haven't moved on yet but i installed the drivers straight from c-media then noticed that if you click on the up arrow next to the icons on the right there was a pci 3d audio config tool and in that i turned on the s/pdif and voila it works. Gonna try going to full mode and see if it still works
