So for a while now I've been hooking up my desktop to big screen TV's along with my flat screen monitor and for some odd reason, after unhooking from one of the big screens and going back to only my monitor the DVI output stopped working, both ports in the back of my graphics card, and only the VGA to the motherboard works.

I've been searching Google, and people have had a number of similar problems but not exactly like mine, that I can find with solutions that have worked for me.

So I have uninstalled my graphics drivers and re-installed the newest ones, I've also tried older drivers that were said to have worked for everyone, but I forget if it wasn't compatible with 7 or my graphics card, it was one of them.

I also have checked the hardware manager and it says my display driver which also says it is my NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 is working properly.

I have also tried the NVIDIA graphics control panel instead of the Windows display control, but neither detect when I have either both VGA and DVI plugged in, or even all three of the ports (Including the second DVI port on the back of my graphics card) only the VGA puts out any sort of signal.

I'm just at wits end and its frustrating because trying to play pretty much any video game off of my motherboards graphics is damn near impossible for me.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Oh, and here's my setup:

Have you tried disabling the onboard graphics from the mobo? This is done via your BIOS and there is a chance this is preventing your DVI from working.

Luckily whoever made this motherboard decided to make the Onboard GPU options the following:

1 - Auto
2 - Always Enable

(It's currently set to 'Auto' because that's the closest option to disabling it, ha)

So you can't even disable it.

I did a little more research, this is a Biostar motherboard, and they have no information on it because something about it being a Legacy product and "eventually" adding support for it.

 Great customer support...

Anyways, any other suggestions?

Sadly, I do not have another computer with a PCIx slot in it, only AGP. =/

Though I am fairly certain of where you're headed to, I'm pretty sure the card hasn't failed, but of course, having no output from it would be a high chance indicator of it not functioning properly.

one thing to try is to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the card in safe mode , see if that makes any difference :(

Never say never, I would shut down the PC, remove the power cord, hold the power button in for 30 seconds, remove the video card, place the power cord back in and turn the PC on. Shut down the PC and repeat the process then insert the video card when you get to the point where I said remove it. Put case cover back on and secure, put power back on and boot the PC with a connection ONLY on your DVI and let us know if that restores the video out problem.

Cool, I got everyone's suggestions, I'm currently trying to get into safe mode, but every time I try to get to the screen that gives me that option by hitting F8 I keep get stuck in the post screen and it says "AMD Data Change . . .Update New Data to DMI!".

So for now I'm going to try fishnbanjo's suggestion.

Good news seth, this works for laptops all the time and I took a chance having this tried on a desktop, thanks for being my guinea pig! :)

neoasr,
Simply put I had seth power down, remove his power cord from his power supply, hold the power button in for 30 seconds which drains power from all the circuits, then remove his video card, replace his power cord and start his PC which has a graphics card on the motherboard. Then I had him shut down the PC and redo all the steps again except when he got to removing the video card step he installed it and attached the connection to his monitor there instead of the onboard video.
Cheers.......

Great idea but I think you'll find the problem isn't the card, although it is one of the more finicky nVidia cards to get right. If it works on the other PC it would be wise to download CCleaner and DriveSweeper on the PC it is not working on and remove all traces of nVidia drivers, this way you get a fresh installation when you put it back in.

I won't disagree with that but will say the possibility the drive is so corrupted now it might be unwilling to latch with the video card. I would do what I said about shutting down the PC and removing the video card then remove the card from within the Control Panel, remove the driver as well, download CCleaner and Drivesweeper and run them removing everything to do with nVidia. Once all this is done reinstall the card and make your only connection to your monitor from this video card and if your BIOS supports disabling the onboard video do that prior to having the OS find your video card again.

done that too as u told...

now talking of bios diabling onboard video card...
i find in bios this option under chipset section -
1 - memory remap feature [enable]
2 - configure DRAM timing by SPD[enable]
3 - Initiate graphic adapter [peg/pci] - igd, pci/igd, pci/peg, peg/igd, peg/pci.
4 - igd graphic mode [enable, 32mb] - 64mb, 128mb
5 - gtt graphic memory size [no vt mode, 2mb]
6 - dvmt memory [256mb] - 128mb, max

now wat to do?
