Hello SevenForums folks,

I am writing because I found myself in trouble when installing win 7 on msi U110 (MSI Global U110 ECO).
The problem is that when I am in the win 7 installation menu, the hard drive on laptop cannot be found and therefore win 7 can't be installed.I tried rebooting the machine and chose startup repair and selected command prompt.
After doing diskpart and list disk, the hdd also are not present.

I have also tried taking out the hdd from laptop and connected via usb to my pc and the hdd seems to function perfectly.

I appreciate every matter of help on this, hoping on you.
Much thanks,
Martin7R

Is the hard drive shown in the BIOS?

What exact message do you get when attempting to run Diskpart?

So it shows in the bios, but when you run diskpart it does not show up, is this correct ?

And this is the only drive connected to the laptop, correct ?

Do you have a UEFI BIOS? Enter BIOS setup (or UEFI Firmware) to report back settings choices for UEFI, EFI, CSM, Legacy BIOS, Secure Boot and BIOS Boot Priority.

If so you'll need to format the flash stick using Option One of UEFI Bootable USB Flash Drive - Create in Windows
and boot the stick or disk as a UEFI device.
