No HDMI audio shows in the panel?

The simple 2 wires are in the cable.

I suppose I could carefully try to remove the metal plugs from the plastic socket and reverse them.
I wonder if the digital multimeter would test the ground pins and show them as true grounds.
I already measured the unused pin and it has 5 volts dc. If one pin shows itself as a ground, then you will know if the wire is reversed.
